Merry Holidays!

"Happy Holidays" or "Merry Christmas!"

Maybe it's due to age or maybe the earth really is spinning faster, but doesn’t it seem as if there is less time between Thanksgiving and Christmas?

“Merry Christmas!”

“ Happy Holidays!”

These two statements seem to be creating quite a stir this season. It’s interesting that there is such judgment taking place based on which of these phrases we choose to say.

The concern that many folks have regarding “Happy Holidays” being used as a politically correct statement and a statement that may be taking “Christ out of Christmas” is understandable, although there may be other reasons why some may choose this popular phrase.

Maybe it's due to age or maybe the earth really is spinning faster, but doesn’t it seem as if there is less time between Thanksgiving and Christmas? Christmas lights are going up earlier every year, retailers are decorating and playing Christmas songs earlier and earlier; all helping to make it appear that these two holidays are merging together. It seems that “Happy Holidays” may also be used as a way to wish people a Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year all at once.

Whether it’s “Happy Holidays” or “Merry Christmas”; “Merry Holidays” or “Happy Christmas”, it’s just nice to have folks wishing one another blessings for the season.

May your blessings be many during this season of unconditional love.
