When Reiki Finds You....

I'm not sure where the beginning would begin, but I do know that the birth of newness is always something that leaves a mark on our soul. Just like Christopher Columbus in his endevors to discover the New World, I too felt a new world on the horizon.
My journey to know the Divine in a more intitmate way began in 2003, after abusing my body with exercise and dieting, the most sacred bone in my body fractured. In an attempt to reach an unrealistic perfection I shattered my spirit to "look like others." After fracturing my pelvis my recovery took about 2 years until I no longer felt "twinges" when I walked. Months of physical therapy, trips to the Cleveland Clinic, and then finally to Dr. Darlene Mager, DO in Canfield. I began weekly acupuncture treatments which brough me the relief I had been seeking. During this time I also grew restless in my spiritual like. I grew hungry to know more about why I was here and who I was evolving into.
Christmas 2005 my mom purchased me a gift certificate for Shine! Salon and Wellness Center in Columbiana, Ohio. I had been praying to meet like minded individuals who were also curious about life, love, and helping people. I felt like a flower who had just burst into bloom! I made an appointment to get a massage with Becky Heck. Mama Jan greeted me the first day and told me she probably wouldn't remember my first name, but she was here if I needed anything. It was her heart that first introduced me to the heart of Shine!. My massage with Becky was amazing and swirled with conversation. We talked during the whole session and she mentioned that I might be interested in Reiki. I hadn't a clue what Reiki was but on my way out the most beautiful blonde (Traci!) stopped me and I sat and talked with her about life and Reiki popped back up again. I took that as a sign and scheduled my class with Reiki Sue and Traci. I wasn't sure what Reiki was but I showed up in sweats just in case I needed to exercise! Our night began around 4:30pm and I don't think any of us intended for the evening to be so full of sharing, laughter, or connectiong...or me leaving after 10pm! I learned so much invaluable information that made my heart swell and my connection to the Divine seem more real. Sacred ways were brought into my life that night and the lasting impact has blessed my life and made my heart more humble. The energy of Reiki has brought balance and a greater apprectiation for a connection to the "whole!" Instead of seeing the black and white of a situation every experieince is bursting with color!

Maybe you have been curious about Reiki or maybe this is your first time hearing about it...whatever the case, as Reiki Sue always says, "Reiki finds you, not the other way around!" You can start with a Reiki treatment which can last for 30minutes or an hour. We also offer Reiki classes levels 1-3 and then Mastership.
